A condition in which pain occurs when the arm is raised between 45 and 160 degrees from the side. The usual cause is an inflamed tendon or bursa around the shoulder joint being squeezed between the scapula and humerus. Treatment includes physiotherapy and injection of corticosteroid drugs.
