An oral contraceptive containing a progestogen drug. It makes the mucus lining the cervix so thick that sperm cannot pass through. It also has other effects that impede conception. Possible adverse effects include irregular periods, bleeding between periods, ectopic pregnancy, and ovarian cysts.
