An anticancer drug used to treat multiple myeloma as well as certain types of breast cancer and ovarian cancer (see ovary, cancer of). Possible adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, sore throat, loss of appetite, aplastic anaemia, abnormal bleeding, and increased susceptibility to infection.
